Scapegoating in Japan

I find this fascinating. I've *heard* about scapegoating rituals before in books, mind you, but I've never actually seen one in action. It's a very interesting ritual, and very trying, I'd imagine. I'm not sure what exactly to think, but it takes a very dedicated person to become the Scapegoat.
