So... I'm feeling *REALLY* creative... and probably will need to find a sponser for something...

Okay! So my father dragged me over to Ikea for the first time ever... and Ikea is like Disneyland for Furniture, i figure... a lot of things they do at disneyland kinda match up with what they do at Ikea. I blame Eurodisney, for the most part. The Meatballs *are* fabulous, though.

However, I only bring up Ikea, because they have these REALLY CHEAP analog clocks for about 2 bucks each. They are really easy to take apart, and really easy to put back together, and I figure, if I have about 12 of them, I could make some really awesome clocks and auction them off or something.

And... I got a fit of Boredom and going "Why am I not working a RPG game?" So I got to working on a World setting... Mainly because I had this cool idea of a hero being surrounded by people, and this Alley Cat Person going "Quick This Way" going around in my head...

So, short form, the game centers around this city that is in this old growth forest. I kinda imagine it as a magical meshing of India, Brazil, and Congo all together. I decided that I would take the generic archetypes (Magical Race, Enduring Race, Small Agile, and Strong Race) and use that as a template for new races (I ended up dropping Enduring Race), and I started to put together what Magic was and what the city is, and what the beliefs are... just all in macroscope, really.

One of the things I want to do is make up new Class like structures (Mainly, because I like Classes and Archetypes in games) and just make this somewhat over the top. I want to make climbing important. Rooftop battles, battles swinging through trees, and stuff like that. I want to have something not really European Fantasy, but I don't want to completely abandon the genre, either.

Well, I'm going to keep mashing, anyway.

Should I make the thing OGL compatible? Should I just use something different? One of the things I don't like about OGL is that the power level tends to get out of control when you hit 12th level. While custom making classes and things would allow me to just make 12th level the high end of the level, part of me really wonders if it's the right structure to begin with. Part of me kinda wants to take it down a 4E inspired route, but 4E really doesn't handle some things very well, like free form visuals...

Ideally, I just want to throw out most of whatever system anyway, just to leave me with the bones to build the fantasy on, anyway. In that perspective, just about any system will do. Heck, OpenD6 probably could use the support, but OpenD6 doesn't really do the Loot and Itemization thing well.

... choices.... I should work on what I want the heroes and villains to do first, I suppose. in Broad terms.
