At Midnight, I ran off to the MTG Prerelease, opened up a Rare I could not use (Havock Festival), a Rare I wanted to use but in the Wrong Color (Aetherling! Cool!), A rare that I played, but I shouldn't have (Krag-Tua Ancient?), and a handful or rares that only one of which counted, which wasn't any of the new cards. :(
Now, I'm not horribly complaining. I think that given everything, the midrange deckie thing I put together was working just fine. It had ways of dealing Stupid amounts of damage and if I could get a little ahead, I could just win out of nowhere. Double Strike is so awesome on 6 power creatures...
But I was fighting off things like Smelt-Ward Gatekeepers, which would steal my creatures and make blocking unfavorable. I was up against Teysa, Envoy of Ghosts, which is too big for the weak removal I had. I was up against Trostani and Call of the Wyrm(?), which I just couldn't plow through. I just couldn't win through bombs.
So I put in a moderate 2-3 performance last night. Armed//Dangerous was for sure my favorite card of the set, and maybe it's even Standard Playable....
... and with 3 hours sleep, I am off to do this again. *whee!*
Love you all.
