I forgot to mention... I have gotten a book.
It was actually quite horrible. I went to Barns and Noble, and I thought I would find ... like... nothing, which would be normal. However, three books kinda leapt at me and said "Take me home!" and it was horrible, because I could only choose one.
There was this book. Dear, I forgot it's name, but it's 52 exercises in how to be more creative and loose. It honed in repetition, drawing from life, and using abstract means. It was a really nice book, and it's on the to get list... if I can remember it's name.
The Second book was about being spontaneous with watercolors. It's a more scholarly book, and it got a lot of color work in it. I really think it would be useful to my collection of watercoloring books.
However! That is not what I ended up taking home. I asked my father to help me pick between the three, and we ended up coming home with Cartoon Cute Animals. It's one of those Chris Hart books, and it's got a real Hanna Barbara vibe to it. It has a lot of different advice, and it'll take a few days to asorb. It's like reading a book on Chibi Art in some fashions... but it's fun.
In anycase, that's the status report.
