Welcome to the Grindfest
Nov. 18th, 2011 06:17 pmSo.... DC Universe Online I want to say is a bueatiful game. There is a lot going for it.
The one thing that is not going for it, however, is level progression.
Come on Sony. I know you've been running games for a long time. I realize that you were trying reboot ground you covered before with the PS3, but listen, reaching the end game after 50 hours doesn't work unless there is clear guides of progression.
I can't buy the material that is suppose to open at 30, because I have to grind for reputation that I was suppose to have by this level.
I can't buy the other gear due to the lack merits.
I can't obtain merits casually, because there is no real guide on the difficulty of instances.
There is no way to gear up to blues for full instances because there is not enough missions to fill these slots...
or there would be... if I could just GET the reputation... which would be wonderful if it was clear what missions would actually obtain this information.
... just in general, the reason they went free to play is that the end game sucks rocks, and is pretty grind worthy. I mean, WOW is put to shame by the level of grind in this game.
Overall, I *do* recommend playing it for the character models and the different combat model. I, however, am not sure I'm going to keep playing, given this development. Level Cap hit way too soon, and without enough co-op missions to get people used to the true combat level they planned. Disappointing.
