Well, this guy had his stuff pulled by Bethesma's C&D letter... but for a moment, let's Pretend I was given a chance to respond.
In response to a video about Skyrim's Main theme, I made the comment that the Grunting Men in the background (Meant to emulate Men Swinging Swords, axes, and whatever) pushed the intro music past epic to silly (And it does!). The person (I really hope this is a kid, for I can forgive the young easier) makes this comment.
(It should be noted, that outside of that, I really do like the stuff. I love singing in fake languages. Klingon and Elvish singing are kinda a highlight of my nerdy music loves).
what the hell are you talking about with you broken ass english? its called a gregorian chant, plus if you listen to any music from the norse cultures there will be remarkable similarities.
Let's move past the fighting words. No Freaking Way In Hell that qualifies as Gregorian Chanting. How the hell can you mistake *THIS* (http://youtu.be/JSRtYpNRoN0) for Gorgarian Chanting? Gegorian Chanting relies on Harmonies and Long Vowels. Furthermore, I have listened to Nordic Music. It wasn't really a requirement, but I try to touch all the cultures that are in my heredity. Skyrim is about as Nordic as Lord of the Rings. The fake ass chorus has more in line with Holiwood, than it does with Nords or Vikings.
I mean, I don't mind the poster getting all stary eyed for Skyrim, but HERE is what Nordic Singing sounds like. http://youtu.be/Dff7-Uhff8E http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T55qGY4qNCo&feature=related
Here is what *GREGORIAN* chanting is like. http://youtu.be/Dlr90NLDp-0 http://youtu.be/d5p_U8J0iRQ
... Skyrim's Theme is straight Hollywood. The theme has more in common with Xena: Warrior Princess and Avatar than it does with Gregorian Chants and Nordic Singing.
While I never will get a chance to properly respond, what on earth are they teaching kids now days? Gregorian Chants? Really?
