Just an observation
Sep. 7th, 2012 08:29 amI'm going back and doing a new Icon for Sarah (Because, let's face it. It's Update Icon times), and I am just realizing how *butch* Sarah really is if I start using the Talbuk models for scale. It's really a combination of things.
1) Mounts in Warcraft are hefty things. They got these largish heads, and they're all angular. They're angular by design, because Polycon Count actually mattered. This makes some things about rounder her off a little tough.
2) She's an antalope on a horses body. Even rounding out things a bit, she still has this "I'm a horse" look, and without the mane coming over the horns bit, it's just harder to relate to it.
3) She's got Spikey Things! I often omit them, but Talbuks have these bonular plates coming out of the sides of their neck, like a Gastonia if it only had plates coming out of it's neck. It's a bit distracting from more smoother lines.
....
It just makes it harder to come across some qualities, that's all.
Actually the most frustrating thing is that no matter how I try, she doesn't fit well into a Square. I'll always lose something, so I gotta decide what is the most important. Garrr!
