*headdesk* I can't figure out what is Australian-ie.

No, seriously. I mean, one thinks of Steve Irwin and Paul Hogan as a foreigner, right? One of them is down right insane with his passion, and the other one plays a character that is more Hick then a Hick.

The problem is I know Australians from the Gaming Industry, and I know a few artists... and they're pretty normal people! If they didn't talk, you couldn't pick them out of a room.

So, then, what is Australian?

Animals cues help, I suppose. Wallabies, Koala, and Platerpi probably all scream Australian to most people.

Landmarks, I suppose. Sydney Opera House. Alice Springs and the Rock. ... Yep, that's it.

*headdesk* It's so hard to come up with something that isn't going to be overdone by a bajillion other artists. I wish I knew what they really meant by Australian!

... and Mr. Spellchecker, Bajillion is so a legit word. Sure, it's not a 'real' word, but it's the most descriptive word in the universe. Much better then Googleplex when you have to talk to people... and GOOGLEPLEX is a word, darn it! I hate my spellchecker.

Meat pies with tomato sauce are also Australian. Heh. Akubra hats, especially if they've got cork bottles hanging off them. Pink and grey galahs (especially as galah subs in as an ocker term for a fool).

It's funny though, if we had to pick symbols for ourselves, it probably wouldn't be Steve Irwin or Crocodile Dundee.
